ARCDES SHANGHAI #41 – Christmas special!

We’re in the final stretch of the year and that means the next ArcDes will be the last one for 2013. As a result, I believe we should do something special to help celebrate the last creative evening of ArcDes Shanghai this year.

As the founder, Asmus, is German and as I am German too, I thought it would be nice to bring a fun Christmas tradition – Wichteln – to our event.

What is that? Wichteln (Secret Santa) is a gift swap between friends at Christmas time.

How will we organize that? Everyone who wants to participate (that means everyone who wants to receive a gift) should bring a wrapped present along with him/herself. As we are a creative gathering, handmade gifts, arts and crafts are likely to be highly welcome. Share your creations with all of us! We don’t want iPads or other fancy gifts, this is about giving something creative or funny.
What if you are not able to paint, draw or make something?
Write a funny poem or bring something else funny to share.
How does it work?
Everybody’s who brings a gift will have their name written on a piece of paper. After selecting a present we will then pick someone’s name for the gift. The participant who receives the gift should then open it, since we will be keen to know what it is!

The more people that participate, the more fun it will be. People without presents are, of course, also very welcome and no-one should feel any pressure to participate.

As we figure out together what the gifts are, it will be a lot of fun for everybody. But no gifts = no fun 🙂

To further increase the Christmas atmosphere Memo has added mulled wine and other winter cocktails, as well as Pumpkin and Speculaas Pie to the menu.
